Salt is Poisonous

          Almost everyone enjoys tasting and seasoning food with many flavorings for the most pleasant flavor including sour, salty, sweet, and spicy. However, strong taste is not good for your health, especially too much salt.

        Many people consider salt as a seasoning. Medically, salt composes of two components which are 40% of sodium and 60% of chloride. Therefore, 1 g of salt consists of 0.4 g of sodium. Some might think sodium is a salty substance, but, in fact, sodium is tasteless and contains in many foods. To avoid sodium toxicity does not mean you have to avoid salt because sodium is everywhere in food additives including fish sauce, soy sauce, sauces, flavor enhancer (monosodium glutamate), and baking powder (sodium bicarbonate) as well.


 


        In our daily life, foods, snacks, and fruits consist of salt. It is found that Thai people consuming salt over 4,000 mg/ day; however, the average guideline recommends limiting sodium intake to less than 2,000 mg/ day. Our body is unable to produce sodium by itself; therefore, sodium is very important. Sodium works with potassium to maintain acid-base balance, nervous system, and muscular system functions.

      We should take sodium in a suitable amount. Whenever sodium is over, it will be secreted through sweat, urine, and feces. Therefore, taking too much sodium can cause overwork of excretory organs including liver and kidneys. Moreover, sodium affects to water balance in body. If sodium is over, there will be more water in our body causing swelling as well as overwork of vessels, heart, and kidneys. As a result, it increases the risk of hypertension, kidney failure, osteoporosis, stomach cancer, allergic reaction, and cardiovascular disease.

        he most important thing is prevention. We must realize before the disease is occurred by using functional medicine which focuses on our body. Moreover, rejuvenating our health to allow reparation must be done by using biofeedback. Biofeedback emits light electricity to examine any cell abnormalities which can reduce occurrence of diseases.
        - Diet control: Should avoid processed food because sodium, contained in fresh and colorful foods, leads to many diseases.
        - Exercise: Should exercise regularly and properly to strengthen your body.
       - Supplement taking: Herbs or homeopathy substances can improve your body function, stimulate excretory system, and enhance body balance.
       - Lifestyle changing, stress reduction, and nervous system rebalancing: These can improve cellular and excretory organ functions to allow the best body reparation.


 




        Preventive health care is the best. If you always eat bad diet and too much sodium, do not exercise, and have stress, you should turn to take care of your health before you get sick. Therefore, your body will be able to repair itself.
